Chicken Ghassi |
Ingredients:
- 500 gm Chicken pieces into 1 inch
- 1 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1/3 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt as needed
- 1 cup Scraped coconut
- 10 Black peppercorns
- ¼ tsp Fenugreek seeds (Methi Seeds)
- 1 tbsp Coriander seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 10 Chillies (dry)
- 10 Curry leaves
- 2 Onion chopped (Medium size)
- 8 Clove garlic
- 1 tbsp Tamarind pulp
- ½ Cup Coconut milk
Method:
- Marinate all chicken with lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, salt and turmeric powder for at least an hour.
- Now make the masala dry roast coconut to a light brown. Lightly fry black peppercorns, fenugreek seeds, coriander seeds and dry chillies in two teaspoons of olive oil.
- Now grind all these along with roasted coconut and half of the onions, make a fine paste using a little water if it is required.
- Heat balance oil in pan. Now add mustard seeds and curry leaves, when the seeds splutter then add garlic and balance onions and fry for 5 minutes on low heat.
- Add ground masala and again fry for five minutes till a nice aroma is given out. Now add marinated chicken and stir well carefully and add one cup of water and adjust salt as needed. Stir, cover and let cook for 10 minutes.
- Add tamarind pulp and stir it well. Now lastly add coconut milk and remove from heat just when it comes to a boil and serve hot as soon as possible to get better test.
